Make Sure Your Nails are Short as not to
injure other Karateka during training.
If you have an injury of any sort or you feel pain during
a particular excercise or technique, let the instructor/s know.
Be sure to take care and wipe up any liquid on the floor,
such as sweat or water.
Spit out anything you are eating or chewing, such as bubble
gum.
When training, learn the technique first, take things a step
at a time and don't rush. What is meant by this is when learning a new technique,
practice the co-ordition and technique first before adding speed or power,
there is no point in adding speed or power to an attack or defence technique
that is not correct, if in doubt ask a sensei or a senior grade.
It is not advised to wear glasses during free training, see
the instructor before you start if you have to wear glasses.
Try to keep your hair tidy and out of the way during training,
tie it back if it's long.
Remove any piercings or jewellry and keep it in your bag
or with the instructor while practicing.
When punching, keep your thumb tucked, an exposed thumb is
as good as a broken one.
If you feel dehydrated, sick or lightheaded at all, let an
instructor or senior grade know.
Always give it your best attempt when training, its hard
to get better if you don't put the effort in.
